At Lavender Chai Co, we're on a mission to foster creativity and make art accessible to everyone. Mini Painting Kits are an innovative way to create art anywhere and make painting approachable for all ages.

The first Mini Painting Kit was created by our founder, Emily, in 2020 as a way to create with friends from a distance. Since their original launch on Etsy, thousands of Mini Painting Kits have made their way into creative hands all over the world and proven creativity is a universal language we must nurture in ourselves and those around us. Why is it called Lavender Chai?

"Celebrate the little things" is Emily's motto. Lavender (herb, color, scent) & Chai are two little things that she loves. Our kits are all inspired by little things. We think there's something beautiful about stopping to admire a mushroom or the foam art on a latte. What better way to celebrate a little thing than a little painting?

Hey, I'm Emily!

Hey! I'm Emily, the creator behind Lavender Chai Co. I'm a self-taught watercolor artist and full-time student with a passion for sharing art. I have always been a firm believer in the importance of access to art supplies and creative tools. I started making Mini Painting Kits four years ago to share my love for watercolor with my loved ones. Since then, my kits have made their way into the hands of creative people all over the world. 

I'm currently studying marketing and music at the University of Minnesota and you can usually find me hopping between cafes and bookstores, dreaming up my next creative project.

Where's the outline??

Mini Painting Kits come blank to allow for creative freedom and for "painting outside the lines".

If you want some more specific guidance, check out our collection of free printable line art and videos which can be transferred to the kits to use "paint-by-number" style. This allows the kits to be used by a complete beginner or an advanced artist who wants more freedom with their artwork.

Remember: You are allowed to paint outside the lines!

What's GOUACHE?

Like watercolor, gouache (pronounced g-wash) is a water-soluble paint. The only difference between gouache and watercolor is that gouache is opaque while watercolor is transparent.

How long will my order take?

Orders are processed within 7 business days. Standard shipping (5-8 business days) and additional expedited shipping options are available at the your discretion. Please contact us with questions.

Are your paints non-toxic?

While we use a large variety of tried and tested paint brands (our favorite student and professional-grade paints), we use non-toxic paints in all our kits.
