The Story Behind Lavender Chai Co.

Lavender Chai Co. started with a stamp.

In 2020, during the stillness and uncertainty of the pandemic, I found myself, like everyone else, separated from my loved ones. I was finishing my first year of high school, and suddenly everything felt paused. No classrooms buzzing before the bell, no art club afternoons, no spontaneous after-school plans.

The days felt quiet in a way I had never experienced before.

Like many people, I was searching for something steady and something grounding to hold onto. But I still wanted to make something. And I still wanted to feel connected.

So I started painting.

Watercolor became my quiet ritual. I would sit at my desk for hours, dipping my brush into water and watching pigment bloom across the page. Layer by layer, I painted small pieces  tiny florals, little landscapes, simple scenes. The paintings were never very big. Maybe the size of a Polaroid photo, small enough to hold in one hand.

I didn’t realize it then, but those tiny paintings were the very beginning of something much bigger.
